TwittamiBeautiful ha avuto, infatti, il piacere enorme di intervistare la grande Katherine Kelly Lang!
Bellissima e talentuosa star di BEAUTIFUL da oltre 27 anni, Katherine ci ha parlato di sé, della famiglia, degli hobby, del suo nuovo grande amore e di Ridge.
Katherine è una grande sportiva, ma anche una donna estremamente creativa e piena di energia positiva e ha dato vita ad una sua linea di accessori ed abbigliamento che riflettono la sua personalità. Il kaftano che indossa nella foto che ci ha mandato appositamente per questa nostra intervista è uno dei tanti che potete ammirare (e comprare!) qui e qui vedrete anche la pagina FB dedicata.
Katherine sta per tornare in USA, ma per rivederla in Italia dovrete aspettare solo qualche mese: durante l’intervista Katherine ci ha detto in anteprima che tornerà presto in Italia, a marzo, per lanciare una nuova linea di abbigliamento per la donna moderna – con outfit per ogni occasione, dall’ufficio alle sere fuori – sul canale di shopping HSE24! Sempre a marzo, sullo stesso canale, lancerà anche una nuova linea di kaftani.

TWB: Kelly, come molte donne, devi conciliare la tua carriera di attrice e la famiglia. Tu hai portato i tuoi figli sul set nella parte del piccolo Rick e della piccola Bridget. Com’è stata quell’esperienza? Hai portato sul set anche tua figlia?
KELLY: Amo lavorare e mi è piaciuto lavorare quando ero incinta e poi anche quando sono tornata a lavoro, portavo i miei bambini con me e loro restavano in camerino con la tata così io potevo passare del tempo con loro tra una ripresa e l’altra. Il mio primo figlio ha interpretato Rick, mio figlio nella soap, per 4 anni quando era piccolo e poi hanno fatto crescere il personaggio. I miei altri figli non hanno partecipato alla soap, ma sono stati lì con me fino a quando hanno iniziato ad andare a scuola.
TWB: Sei una donna molto sportiva: vai a cavallo, vai a correre e pratichi il triathlon: come concili sport e recitazione quotidianamente? Com’è la tua giornata tipo?
KELLY: Amo allenarmi e faccio sport da una vita.. I cavalli sono la mia passione ed il mio hobby da quando ero una ragazzina. Ho fatto correre i miei cavalli nelle gare di endurance delle 25, 50 e 100 miglia per circa 20 anni. Ora pratico triathlon dalla scorsa estate ed il mio cavallo si è preso una pausa. Amo anche andare in bici, nuotare e correre e sto facendo anche le gare della Half Ironman ora… molte miglia ed ore di allenamento a settimana…. Da quando i miei figli sono cresciuti, è più facile, ora, trovare tempo, ma devo tenere un severo orario di lavoro, allenamento, studio e sonno. Poi, una buona alimentazione e del tempo con la mia famiglia e con il mio amore… Il mio giorno tipico comporta andare a lavoro e girare uno o due episodi di Beautiful e poi andare ad allenarmi in palestra o fare una corsa o una nuotata o fare un giro in bici. Poi, andare a casa e preparare una cena salutare e studiare i copioni per il giorno dopo. Dominique ed io ci alleniamo sempre assieme. Anche lui partecipa alle gare Ironman quindi è divertente per noi trascorrere del tempo facendo questa cosa insieme e ci sosteniamo l’uno con l’altra e ci supportiamo a vicenda.
TWB: Stai vivendo una nuova e profonda storia d’amore con Dominique Zoida e insieme siete una gran bella coppia (#TeamDolly!). Ci puoi raccontare come è iniziato tutto?
KELLY: Dominique ed io ci siamo conosciuti un anno e mezzo fa. Lui era l’allenatore di triathlon per la squadra della CBS e per la squadra di The Bold and The Beautiful da quando lavorava alla CBS come Lead Advertising Sales Specialist. Volevo davvero vincere o almeno fare davvero bene così gli chiesi di allenarmi privatamente. Era molto incoraggiante, di sostegno e aveva sempre il sorriso sul suo viso, ogni giorno, e con una buona energia. Cominciammo a trascorrere un sacco di tempo assieme e una cosa portò all’altra. Cominciammo ad uscire assieme e diventammo inseparabili abbastanza velocemente. Siamo entrambi molto attivi e amiamo le avventure a ci divertiamo molto insieme. Abbiamo fatto così tante cose assieme da quando ci conosciamo che mi pare di conoscerlo da sempre. E ora chi chiamiamo Team Dolly.. i nostri due nomi messi assieme… una dolcissima storia d’amore!
TWB: Brooke Logan, il tuo personaggio di B&B, è sempre stata innamorata di Ridge. E’ stato difficile, all’inizio, essere Brooke con un attore diverso nella parte di Ridge? Qual è stata la tua reazione al riassegnamento della parte? E’ stato difficile girare le ultime scene con Ronn Moss? – per il pubblico è chiaro che la vostra amicizia ha giocato un ruolo fondamentale durante le riprese.
KELLY: Interpreto Brooke a Beautiful da oramai 27 anni e Brooke e Ridge hanno avuto i loro alti e bassi per la maggior parte degli anni per cui è stato molto difficile vedere Ronn lasciare lo show. Per me era come uno di famiglia. Abbiamo lavorato assieme per così tanto tempo e siamo diventati buoni amici. Le ultime scene che ho avuto con lui sono state molto difficili. I nostri personaggi si stavano sposando e si presupponeva che io fossi felice, ma di fatto, ogni volta che lo guardavo, mi veniva da piangere, per cui ho evitato il contatto visivo. Ma immagino che questo andasse bene per lo show visto che tutti piangono al proprio matrimonio, giusto? E’ stato altrettanto difficile vedere anche Susan Flannery, che interpretava “Stephanie”, lasciare lo show.. Thorsten Kaye ha preso la parte di Ridge un anno dopo che Ronn se n’era andato. Ha fatto un buon lavoro facendo suo il personaggio. E’ un bravo attore e una persona molto carina. E’ stato difficile per me guardarlo come se fosse Ridge proprio come lo è stato per il pubblico, ma ora mi sono abituata. Brooke semplicemente vede Ridge come una persona diversa. Effettivamente le persone cambiano durante la vita. Puoi accettarlo o meno.

She has been starring on B&B for more than 27 years and she told us about herself, her hobbies, her family, her new great love and Ridge.
This great actress is a really sporty woman, but she is also a very creative woman so full of positive energy: she created her own line of accessories and clothing that reflect her personality.

Kelly is goingo back to the USA: to see her in Italy again, you will have to wait a few months: she will be back in March to launch a new fashion line for the modern woman, with outifits that range from the office to going out at night, and she will also launch a new line of Kaftans. Where? On the Italian shopping channel HSE24!
Here’s what she told us.
TWB: Kelly, like many women, you have to concilate your
career as an actress and family. You had your own
sons as baby Rick and baby Bridget with you
on set. How was that experience? Did you bring your
daughter on set, too?
KELLY: I love to work so I enjoyed working when I was pregnant and then also when I went back to work I would take my babies with me and they would be in the dressing room with the nanny and I would be able to spend time with them in between shooting scenes. My first son played Rick, my son on the show, for 4 years when he was a baby and then they aged the character . My other children were not on the show but would come to work with me until they started school.
TWB: You are a very sporty woman: you ride horses, you go running and you
practise triathlon: how do you conciliate sport and acting on
a daily basis? How’s your typical day?
KELLY: I love to workout and do sports my whole life.. Horses have been my passion and hobby since I was a young girl. I raced my horses in 25,50,and 100 mile endurance races for about 20 years. Now I am doing triathlons since last summer and my horse is taking a break. I love to bike, swim , run and I am doing the Half Ironman races now…many miles and hours of training a week… since my children are grown now it is easier to find time to train but still I need to have a strict schedule of work, training, studying, and sleep. Also, good nutrition and down time with my family and my honey…My typical day would be to go to work and tape one or two episodes of Beautiful and then either go train at the gym or do a run or a swim or a bike ride. Then go home and make a healthy dinner and study scripts for the next day. Dominique and I always train together. He does the Ironman races too so it is fun for us to spend time doing this together and we push each other and support each other.
TWB: You are living a new deep love story with Dominique Zoida and you
are a great couple (#TeamDolly!). Can you tell us about how it
all began?
KELLY: Dominique and I met a year and a half ago. He was a triathlon coach for the CBS team and Bold and Beautiful team since he was working at CBS as the Lead Advertising Sales Specialist. I really wanted to win or at least do really well so I asked him to coach me privately. He was very encouraging, supportive, and always had a smile on his face every day and good energy. We started spending a lot of time together and one thing led to the next. We started dating and became inseparable fairly quickly. We are both very active and love adventures and and have a great time together. We have done so many things together since we met that I feel like we have known each other forever, And now we are called Team Dolly.. our two names put together… a very sweet love story!
TWB: Your character on B&B, Brooke Logan, has always been in love with
Ridge. Was it difficult, at the beginning, to be Brooke with
a different actor as Ridge? What was your reaction to the recast of the role?
Was it difficult to play the last scenes with Ronn Moss? – it is clear
to the audience that your friendship played an important role
when taping.
KELLY: I have played Brooke on Beautiful now for 27 years and Brooke and Ridge have had there ups and downs for most of those years so it was very difficult to see Ronn leave the show. He was family to me. We worked together for so long and became good friends. The last scenes I had with him were very difficult. Our characters were getting married and I was supposed to be happy but actually every time I looked at him I would cry so I tried to avoid eye contact. But I guess it was okay for the show because everyone cries at their wedding. right? It was just as difficult to see Susan Flannery who played ‘Stephanie” leave the show too.. Thorsten Kaye took the part of Ridge a year after Ronn left. He has done a good job of making it his own character. He is a good actor and a very nice person. It was hard for me to look at him as Ridge just like it has been hard for the audience but I am used to it now. Brooke just sees Ridge as a different person. People do change throughout their lifetime. So you can accept it or not.
